The roll-out strategy is expected to unfold over a three-month period.
At the equipment level, this will include the deployment of the first biorefinery (most likely on the Mayan Riviera, Mexico); the serial manufacturing of additional refineries at six week intervals, destined for the Mayan Riviera and neighboring Caribbean islands; the development of high purity processing for the four initial products (bio-stimulants, fucoidans, alginates, powdered sargassum); and the development of closed-cycle chemical recovery processes.
At the operational level, one export facility will be set up (location TBA); training will begin for biorefinery operators (three-person crew per shift, two shifts per biorefinery); and discussions will continue with select Caribbean governments to establish a Centre of Excellence through which a sargassum industry will be engineered (based on the concept of “local-to-global” exports).
At the commercial level, the first three offtake customers will be activated once the first biorefinery is operational; additional offtake customers are expected to be secured by then (seven are currently moving towards signed agreements); and the first nearshore harvesting customer is expected to be named.
Meanwhile, our capital raise efforts ($585K equity and $2.25M debt) in support of the equipment deployment over Q3 and Q4 continue apace.
